Sam's Story

By Sam

Sam served with the Military Police for 23 years, experiencing numerous traumatic events during his service. A particularly harrowing incident in Afghanistan, where he assisted in recovering the remains of a colleague killed in action, left a lasting impact. This event, among others, led to the development of PTSD. Years later, Sam reached out to Combat Stress for specialist mental health treatment. Through their support, he gained the tools to manage his PTSD, leading to a significant improvement in his quality of life. Sam credits Combat Stress with giving him the tools to manage his PTSD, stating, "Combat Stress probably saved my life."
